L’oven life

by justbekozlowski

It was a loafly day
But no one was bready
To rise to the challenge
But the sun in the yeast,
Rose nice, slow and steady.

It was a chance to prove
Flour true devotion
To getting a raise,
And kneading emotion.

If this doesn’t make sense,
Then you’ve not spent your day,
Watching bread rise,
Slowly away, *
I’d be better off,
Just watching the sun,
But it might burn my eyes,
And then I’d have none.

*alternative ending.
It’s almost as bad,
As watching paint dry,
But you shouldn’t eat paint,
And neither should I.
