The possession blues.
Simplicity is complex,
First you need to rid yourself of stuff,
There are lessons to be learned in what you need,
And what is just enough.
We fill our world with diamonds,
That we can never eat,
And there are people who’ve hundreds of shoes,
When they only have two feet.
We spend so much time collecting,
All these things that we don’t require,
And now we’ve forgotten our basic needs,
Like how to build a fire.
There are people who have little,
But the smiles on their faces,
They don’t need any more,
As they’re still going places,
They will not be slowed,
On the lifelong road,
By hordes of shoes,
Or the possession blues.
